On Thursday, April 5th 2018, the UNL Forensic Science Club provided members an opportunity to participate in mock interviews. Interviews took place in the Nebraska City Union and were conducted by Celeste Laird, the Forensic Chemistry Lab Manager of the Nebraska State Patrol, and Dr. Michael Adamowicz, the Director of the Forensic Science Program.
Two students were featured (Kimberly Gollhofer and Natalie Phillips) who actually sat down with these professionals and “interviewed” for a job with the Nebraska State Patrol while club members watched. Afterwards, the interviewers debriefed the participants and answered questions about best practices in professional interviews. This opportunity provided important insight and interviewing skills for students wanting to pursue careers in forensic science.
